Publix today

So I went to Publix today and had a great experience. I had a cashier I had never had before. He was so nice and understanding. I saved $97.20 and spent $34. I bought 39 items for about $0.87 a piece. Since I was using up some coupons before Christmas eve I bought some rather expensive stuff, but it was worth it.

Stealing from children

Since no one reads this I am free to say what I want. SG so glad you're in jail. How dare you break into a family member's house. How dare you steal her checkbook. How dare you steal all her kid's electronics. I hope you stay there for a long long time. Merry Christmas.

Don't you hate it when...

Don't you hate it when you go somewhere and they won't take your coupon. Happened to me today at CVS. The part that sucks is, it totally threw me off my game and I forgot to use my coupon for spending over $20 so I could get $4 ecb back and then I forgot to use my giftcard. So I trip that should have cost me next to nothing cost me $4. Ughh I hate it when that happens.

Using Coupons

Today was a very interesting day at the grocery store. I bought 56 items and used 46 coupons at the grocery store today. Now here is the interesting part. The people that were in line behind me did not get upset because of how long everything was taking, the cashier did LOL. She seemed to be really upset that she had to do all those coupons. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Winn Dixie 11/30

So from what I can tell I must be the only person on the internet that found this deal. So for you my none readers here it is. Winn Dixie has a deal where you buy a 90-96oz frozen Stouffer's lasagna or 57oz chicken enchilada and get a 2L Pepsi product, 48oz Breyer's ice cream, 16oz plain or 12oz Steamfresh Bird's Eye vegetables, and 10oz Pepperidge Farm garlic bread free. You must have a Winn Dixie card and can only do this deal once. I'm not sure about the use of coupons because I hate my Winn Dixie and never go there because of how they treated me the last time I attempted to use coupons there. I do plan on attempting this deal today so wish me luck.

How the Lord Provides

So I thought I would take this oppurtunity to tell you some wonderful things God is doing in my life. First, let's talk money. My DH paycheck was larger then expected. Second, there is a dinner at my church for couples. It costs $20, but because I signed up for the Mom's Morning Out program that didn't work I get to go for free. And third, I got a job offer. It's funny because I've been asking the Lord to provide me with a job, but I didn't know how to find one or know that I was making the right choice. Well, yesterday when I was shopping at Gymboree the new store manager said, "how would you like a job here." I was like "yes, please". I really think the Lord led me to this place, so please pray for me. I am turning in my application later today and leaving it in God's hands. The second thing I want to talk about is food. There are many things that the Lord has done like Angel Food and helping me become a crazy coupon lady LOL. In fact, I have been spending much less on our groceries and we have more food then ever now. Isn't it great! Just the other day a large box arrived. I couldn't remember ordering anything so I was excited to see what was inside. Turns out it was 4 boxes of rice. A company I had complained to like a year ago had sent me the boxes thanking me for helping them find a problem in their production line. So, don't lose hope. The Lord provides and he helps me survive.

Today's Deals

Don't forget that today is the last day to score 3 2-Liters of Dr. Pepper from Publix. Buy 3 and use the coupon ($2 off a purchase of 3) from the yellow advantage flyer to score them for $1 plus tax.

Also Walgreen's is offering a video DVD of pictures for only $1. This is something you have to do at the kiosk so it could take some time. I don't have the energy to do this today, but I hope some of you do. Pick up the flyer inside the store and have fun making your movie.

Publix Trip

So I just wanted to let you all know that I purchased 4 Ragu spaghetti sauces and 1 Klondike bar and was able to use the Parade magazine coupon with no problems. I was also able to get 8 reuseable shopping bags for free. Go here to print the coupons for the free bags. With every 2 General Mills products you buy you can get a free bag. There are also coupons for $1 off Ground Beef when you buy Hamburger Helper. I bought 4 pounds today and since they are on sale it makes them about $1 a pound. And don't forget that Hamburger Helper is B1G1.

Publix coupon in Parade magazine

Just a head's up to let you know there is a $5 off $15 worth of Unilever products in this Sunday's Parade magazine. Could be really good with the Ragu and Klondike bar sales. Do you think that the free items count towards the $15 worth. It doesn't say spend $15 save $5 it says buy $15 worth. So if Ragu is B1G1 and they are $2.50 each that is $5 towards the $15 correct?

Join My Village

Head on over to joinmyvillage.com and sign up to help impoverished women and girls in Malawi. General Mills let me know about this project and here is what they have to say about it.

Malawi is among the world's least developed and most densely-populated countries in the world.

Join My Village is setting out to drive measurable and long-term positive impact with women and families in Africa by tapping into the inherent power of women to connect with, and provide strength for, other women.

Here’s how you can get involved:
  • Visit JoinMyVillage.com and join one of ten village teams to benefit approximately 75 villages in Malawi.
  • Participate in simple online activities that “unlock” General Mills donations to fund CARE’s poverty fighting programs in the Malawi villages. (Limit of 3 activities per person per day, and unlocking up to $15,000 per online village team or $150,000 in total.)

To learn more about Join My Village and help unlock funds to empower women and girls in Malawi visit JoinMyVillage.com.

This has got to be one of the easiest and best way to help others. I hope you all sign up!

AskSteven

So I wanted to let you know that this part of our web address came from my MIL. She is constantly calling my husband and asking him the dumbest questions. Not to mention she thinks he's the weather guy. My kids have gotten in the habit of answering the phone, "AskSteven.com how can we help you?". So if you have any questions for me or my husband, or just want to know what the weather is going to be, just ask. If possible I would love to get a mini weather radar in the corner. For now this link will have to do: http://www.cbs12.com/sections/west-palm-beach-weather/

This will work for all you locals. If you are far away, let me know and I will work on getting a weather radar for you.

Winn Dixie

So I am not a big fan of Winn Dixie because I went to use coupons and they wouldn't let me. So I haven't been there in several months. Well, in the hopes of getting coupons to use at Publix I signed my youngest up for their baby club. This week I received some coupons in the mail. I received a coupon for $10 off an order of $50 and a coupon for free diapers and free wipes. So I used the $10 coupon at Publix. I went into Winn Dixie today to get the free diapers and wipes. There were some problems scanning the coupons but I ended up getting them free no tax and I received a $10 off $50 catalina. Maybe I will start shopping Winn Dixie again? I will use the coupon at Publix next week probably. I guess we will see!

My favorite Blogs

So a lot of people (obviously not on here since no one reads this) have been asking me where I find all my information and good deals. I will start simple. There are 3 sites that I absolutely love and where I get most of my information from.

3. http://www.iheartpublix.com/ This site is where I find all my coupon match ups for the current sale.

So I hope to get some readers soon and when I do, I hope this helps them out.

Dannonomics

So I stumbled upon this flyer at my local Publix the other day. It mentions a program from Dannon yogurt called Dannonomics. The flyer did not say much (I think it was intended only for the staff, but they had it with the sale flyers). What it did say was that on September 13, 2009 there would be coupons in the paper. It also says that the more you spend the more you save. It said save up to $15 dollars. My guess is that it is some sort of rebate program, though I can't be postive. It does say limit one per household. So save your coupons until after Sept. 13. This program looks like it could be a great deal.

A new month

So today begins a new month. Our pastor spoke to us about forgiveness (both giving and receiving). So I think this month I will concentrate on forgiving those who have hurt me and getting forgiveness from those I have hurt. Some people have already forgiven me, which is great. Others I can never ask so I must do it through God. Since no one reads this I can honestly say to those that I have hurt. I'm sorry. I don't think I ever started out to hurt you. You gave me something that I needed. I gave back. The only problem was it never should have been and would never become. I apologize to how I used you and forgive you for using me. It's time for me to let go. I pray my memories go to so that I can be truly forgiven and forgive. So farewell, goodbye to my hurt. And I pray that the scars I left on you are healed so that you may move on. I wish you only the best and pray that you can find the peace that I have through Jesus. He's the only one who will ever be able to help you. People will always fail. I'm sorry!

Bit by bit

So I feel like the tortoise sometimes. I finally spoke with the nutritionist for the county. She asked me to forward the memo I found to her. So I did. Now we wait. One battle at a time is how I agreed to fight this. So first I have to get them to acknowledge that they will take my note. Next comes the correct substition. Then they will have to explain to the Federal Government why they have been non-compliant thus far. So "just trying 2 survive" a little bit more everyday. I will let you know how this turns out.

Fight the System

Okay like I said before, "I am just trying 2 survive" so here's one more blow. My oldest DD is allergic to milk. She has attended the same school since kindergarten. In the middle of the year last year they made me get a doctor's note stating that she needed to have juice substituted for milk. Today they told me they need a new note. I asked why and they said federal regulations. So I asked where, the lady didn't know. Well after a little more searching I found it. Except, it says that the doctors note does NOT need to be reissued unless there has been a change. Well I just spent a few more minutes searching the federal website and the school is going to wish they never opened this can of worms. According to the feds I can write the note and they need to substitute milk for an equal item. That means nutritionally it has to be the same. My poor DD has been receiving 4 oz of juice which doesn't even come close to the 8oz milk dairy requirements. Well I can't wait until tomorrow. Let the fireworks begin. And remember, don't let someone tell you how things work, find out for yourself.

Gymboree

So I have a huge Gymboree obsession. I love their clothes and love to have my girls match. So, that being said Gymboree has started a new program. It's called Gymboree rewards. Basically you get a point for every dollar you spend. Once you reach 250 points you get a $5 gift card. Not bad since I was already spending. So click here https://www.gymboree.com/rewards/home.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=1408474395934339&bmForm=Gymboree+Rewards&bmFormID=1251393116940&bmUID=1251393116940&bmHash=389b9d5cfc0831a3994bb1a96384fc065df588a4
and it should take you to the sign up. If you already have a Gymboree account you just need to click a button. If not you need to sign up basically your address and stuff. Right now you get 100 points for signing up. I signed up last night and did not see this so I wonder if I will get it. I also received a welcome email this morning so I'm not sure if it was announcing the program or letting me know I would receive the points. If anyone reads this and gets the bonus points, let me know. The only problem is, I'm "Just Trying to Survive" at the moment and do not have even a dollar to spend at my favorite store. I have 4 coupons sitting next to me that expire at the end of this month and no money to spend. So If you are like me, maybe we can help each other, just try to survive.

So Here it Goes

As I write this my two youngest are feeding and getting drinks for each other. It should be a disaster but I'm finding it really cute. I'm not sure what this blog will end up being. Will I write something that hundreds of people will look at everyday? Will I list the bargains I find? Will I just pour out my soul to anonymous strangers around the world? So, here it goes. Wish me luck and if you, dear reader, actually exist let me know by leaving a comment.
